Hey I just want to share this with you all.
We are getting ready to unveil the new video section in about 2 days and during the long process of putting the section together my computer had a meltdown.
I have been editing video around the clock compressing and FTP-ing and my hard drive decided to fry.
When I say I wanted to cry I mean it. This hard drive had all my original images from the end of last season and every thing from New Orleans and Venice on it that was not backed up. Including 50 plus hours of editing to get the new video section live.
The day it happened I called the Geek Squad to help me since fried hard drives are outta my league. They came out charged me $229 for an emergency service call and were not able to help me. They told me to take the computer to Best Buy and drop it off and they would try to figure it out. Well my thoughts at this point are $229 dollars in, plus what ever it will now cost at Best Buy, then I still need new drives blah blah . Thinking this way I figured I would just say ‘oh well’ and buy a new computer and move on. Then a friend called and I told him what was going on.
He said call Eric and Data Troop in South Jersey. I called him and he came right out. He took my computer and called me every few hours updating me. He then called and said I have good news! Some data was starting to transfer to a new hard drive. Well about 48 hours later all the data was transferred and he came by to drop off an external hard drive with all my important files.
He was able to recover everything I needed from the computer.
So please if you own a company in the TriState area and need IT work, check out www.datatroop.com, they saved the sportfishermen.com video section.
Video section coming in 2 days with over 200 videos for you to watch
Thanks Eric- you the man !!!!!!!
